Lost or Missing Notes
My notes disappeared after an update or reinstall
- Go to Settings > Backup & Restore in the app to check for a saved backup you can restore.
- Make sure iCloud Drive is enabled: open your device's Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive and confirm Notepad is toggled on.
- Check that your iCloud account has sufficient storage.
- If you recently reinstalled the app, wait 10–15 minutes for notes to re-sync from iCloud.
My notes are gone after switching devices
Make sure you are signed into the same iCloud account on both devices. Then confirm iCloud Drive is enabled with Notepad toggled on (Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive). Notes should sync automatically within a few minutes.
I accidentally deleted a note
If you have the Deleted Folder option enabled in Settings, deleted notes are kept there temporarily and can be recovered. You can also restore from a backup via Settings > Backup & Restore.
How can I verify my notes are still in iCloud?
You can check by visiting our web viewer at oldnotepad.com/web. Select Sign in With Apple ID and log in using the same iCloud credentials you use on your iOS device. Once logged in, select Manual Refresh to see a list of all your notes stored in iCloud.
iCloud Sync
How do I turn on iCloud sync?
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top, then go to iCloud > iCloud Drive.

- Confirm both devices are signed into the same iCloud account.
- Check that iCloud Drive is enabled with Notepad toggled on (Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive) on both devices.
- Make sure both devices are connected to the internet.

- If issues persist, try reinstalling the app and waiting 10–15 minutes for notes to sync.
